Within many of the categories, we offer further routes to the perfect piece: design your own jewelry, use the ring, pendant, earring or bracelet finder, or click on any of our helpful design categories, such as “Simply Elegant” or “Diamond Dazzlers” to unearth one of our many beautiful settings.
From our sprawling space in Long Island City, New York, Jewels for Me utilizes a local network of talented international artisans to produce our line. We keep you in mind at every step of the creation of your jewelry. All pieces are handcrafted – the rings sized by hand, the stones examined for quality, color, clarity and brilliance, then set with the utmost care. We call on the best stone-setters in New York to work with your gems, and each piece is checked for flawlessness at several stages, so that you can rest assured that we believe in its quality before it ships. We’re picky for you, so that when you catch sight of the jewelry you ordered, all you have to be is pleased.
We offer an unprecedented selection of gems including all twelve birthstones, as well as more exotic stones like tanzanite and tourmaline. The styles of our settings are diverse as well, though all current and tasteful. Many websites that feature birthstones fail to keep up with current styles; we strive to balance our line so that the most popular trends are available as well as timeless, elegant jewelry. For both types of settings, the quality of our workmanship is impeccable, so that whatever your selection, it is built to last. Because of our exclusive web presence and because each order is created especially for you, we are able to keep our costs down, and that savings is reflected directly in the economical prices you see on our site
We hope to guide your selection with advice and information about each of the stones – its history and its aesthetic properties – as well as stories from the history of jewelry as well. What is the history of the engagement ring? What is a claddagh ring? What have been some famous gifts to stars and what are some legendary stories within jewelry’s glittery past? On our customer service page, we answer frequently asked questions about quality and service so as to inform your understanding of the gems you are about to receive. Some people write to us with questions as to what to buy: can we think of something appropriate for a young child, a pre-engagement gift, or something terrific for a man. We’re happy to guide you towards popular choices for any and all scenarios, especially at the holidays, when gift giving can get overwhelming. A piece of jewelry is an investment and the more you know about what you are purchasing, the more valuable it will be. We want to make sure that you are aware of the significance of your jewelry, so that you and your loved ones can pass on the meaningful stories that surround each precious adornment.

At Jewels For Me, we believe in our relationship with our clients, and therefore put a lot of stock in what you say. We’ve done our job when we hear from you that our service, our product, and our timely presentation were more than satisfactory: we need to know that you and your loved ones are thrilled. We strive to respond specifically to every order, to address your questions helpfully, to keep your needs in mind. Every order comes in a little jewel box, tucked into a bag with a teddy bear, and that’s just one of the ways we try to show we care. Overall, we want to provide you with a wide selection of classic and exciting jewelry options. Despite the fact that each order is custom made for you, our jewelry comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. You can read further comments from our clients on our customer service page, and send us your own feedback when you’ve become one of our many satisfied customers.

Agate is also known as chalcedony. It is a stone that has been used for centuries as gems and as precious materials for the production of ornaments or small sculptures. The name chalcedony comes from Calcedon, or Calchedon, an ancient port on the Sea of Marmara, in Asia Minor. Ornamental materials used to be mined in that area and it was an active trading center for many gems. Various forms of agate used to be used extensively for bases and handles of gold items such as goblets, and for stone inlay work. Tiny crystals of quartz interlock to form agate and because of this, it is always opaque to translucent. Agate is an excellent material for cameos as the contrast between the different layers is used to heighten the relief. Agate's value was quite high in antiquity, when it was one of the main gemstones used. Now its value is fairly low, except for the rare green form called chrysoprase.

Unusual colors and markings of agate made it very highly regarded by the ancients and it was revered throughout history until the present. According to Pliny the Elder, agate was believed to make its wearers "agreeable and persuasive and give them god's favor." In the middle of the 1800's, amulets made from eye agate (brown or black agate with a white ring in the center) were so popular that agate cutters in Germany had no time to cut anything else. The eye was believed to take on the watchfulness of one's guardian spirit and to protect the wearer from the evil eye.

Agate rates a 6.5 to 7 on the hardness scale. The typical color of agate is a blue whitish grey. The most highly prized forms of agate are sard, cornelian, chrysoprase and jasper. Agate has many subspecies, which are distinguished by their colors and patterns. Carnelian is yellow-orange to orangey red and translucent. Chrysocolla is an intense light blue or blue-green. Chrysoprase is translucent, light to medium yellowish green, and was once considered to be a prized form of jade. Bloodstone is another form of agate, opaque and dark green with spots of dark red. Legends said bloodstone was formed out of drops of Christ's blood as he was crucified. Blue Lace Agate is translucent and is lavender to light blue with lacy white lines. Jasper can be different opaque colors, usually green, red, or yellow. Jasper can show various landscape-like patterns within the stone.

Moss agate is translucent. It is brown or green with inclusions that look like moss or leaves. Onyx and sardonyx are opaque and banded, or of a solid color. Petrified wood is another form of agate, which is really wood that has been replaced by agate, which follows the wood's structure. Plume agate looks like it is filled with feathers. In general, agate is thought to protect and give courage, help one battle against bad dreams and insomnia, prevent skin ailments and cool fevers. It is also thought to strengthen the spirit, protect from misfortune, give courage to the timid, and banish sadness. In the Middle East, agate was thought to relieve thirst if held in the mouth. Agate occurs in masses, in rocks such as volcanic lavas. It is found in Uruguay, Brazil, Italy, India, China, Mexico, Madagascar, Egypt, Scotland, the US, Canada, and since 1948, in Germany.CLICK BELOW FOR INCREDIBLE SALES
